He Died so that I don't Have to Die

I still remember, that month when school students used to celebrate and be happy because they are being upgraded to another class, It was me standing outside vice-principal’s office with my dad waiting for his secretary to call us.

I was in my 11^th grade taken commerce. In fact a commerce student whose interests are more into extra-curricular activities is a dangerous combination. I loved playing drums and at that time I was pretty well known in my school for my drumming. Drumming was what interests me and I had actually forgotten that I am a commerce student and there is accounts also where I have to show my interest.

Whole year I was away from accounts and economics but when exams came I had to bring it closer to me. I had to somehow manage clearing those papers. Barely clearing accounts and economics was what I thought will be my biggest achievement this year.

I gave my exams and here I was standing in front of my vice-principal’s office.

I had flunked in accounts and economics. And there was very less chance for me to go to 12^th grade. All of my friends had cleared and were now sitting in their new classes but here I was tossing in between.

It was that day when it all struck me. Even though being a musician, in studies I was a failure. The future looked dark. It was like my life has come to an end. I had fear of being called a loser, I had fear of being asked by others about my marks, I feared that now my future is gone. My heart sank with all these thoughts.

I came back home, went to my room and locked myself in the bathroom and started crying. I cried for hours thinking of all this. All sorts of thoughts were crossing my head. I was feeling depressed, because my parents had to hear so much about their son who is a loser. I feared losing friends. That very day I felt that my life came to an end.

In those three hours, I thought of running away from home or just lock myself, even finishing up everything and END MY LIFE!

After a while my mom came to my room and to the bathroom door. The word she spoke I still remember to this day, she said,

“Harshit we love you”

“I know what you are going through but let not any negative thought come to your mind”

And I said, “But I failed, I feel like ending myself.”

She said, “your life is precious”

Few days later,

She again came to my room while I was sitting in my own depressed state.

We spoke for a while. She was comforting me then before leaving my room she said, “He died so that you don’t have to die.”

I didn’t understand what she meant but now when I look back it makes perfect sense. She spoke about Christ who died in my place so that I don’t have to end my life thinking I AM A FAILURE.

I was in trouble and depressed, but Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” In my turmoil the Word says that I will give you rest.

Dear readers,

You might be going through a very tough time in your life. You might be depressed because you have an abusive relationship or unrest in your family or financial burden or even struggle in your career. You see yourself as a looser. You might want to even end your life because you are tired.

But!

There is someone who wants to partner with you in your pain. Because HE KNOWS WHAT PAIN IS. He says that I am your friend. He assures you to give rest. He assures that He will walk with you faithfully and help you come out of your pain and trouble. In this unfaithful and backstabbing world he assures of his continuous presence.

He says in Deuteronomy 31:8, “He goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” This is the encouragement that I got and same I want to share it with you that if you are in trouble. He is the best go-to person.

He is none other than Jesus Christ.

He died so That you don’t have to die.

Through his death he showed his faithful love towards you. He even says in Isaiah, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

My dear Readers,

                                He is there to rejuvenate you. He is there to strengthen you and rescue you from the situation you are in. But do you know why?

Because HE LOVES YOU AND CARE FOR YOU

He lifted me up. He rescued me from the pit.

He wants to rescue you too!

At present you might not have anyone to talk to or go to because you really don’t trust anyone. But I want to just say that Jesus is a Friend who is faithful and to whom you can share your deepest secrets. And the best part is He doesn’t gossip about your secrets and situation to anyone, rather rescues from the Pit.

Thus,

If you are in trouble and you have nowhere to go, then Jesus is the one to whom to can go.

Because

HE DIED SO THAT I DONT HAVE TO DIE
